Thanks card by Sarah de Guzman
“Thanks” card by Sarah de Guzman

1. Start off by cutting out the backbone to your card; this can be either cardstock or patterned paper. The dimension I used was 4.5″x9″. Fold paper in half to get a square-shaped card.
2. Cut out a piece of cardstock with dimensions 4.25″x4.25″.
3. Distress the edges of the 4.25″x4.25″ cardstock with an ink of your choice.
4. Adhere the 4.25″x4.25″ cardstock to the front of your card.
5. Cut out nine 1″x1″ squares using different patterned papers.
6. Arrange squares in rows of 3×3.
7. Adhere each square symmetrically; use a pop up foam adhesive on the middle square to add dimension.
8. Wrap some ribbon around the middle square to give it color.
9. Thread twine in and out of button holes, and then tie a bow on the top of the button.
10. Adhere the button to the center.
11. Add sentiment with stickers below the center square.

Thread Spirograph tutorial by Kari Ann Sweeney

1. Draw a circle on the back side of your paper. My circle is 8 1/2″ in diameter.
2. Measure and draw spots for your holes. I made mine 1 inch apart. There are 27 holes. Be sure to number the holes 1 through 27.

3. Punch your holes.
4. Prep your floss. You’ll need a lot of floss. I used 5ft. sections and used three strands each. You will need a total of four 5 ft sections with 3 strands each.
5. On the back side bring your floss through at #1. Go across the front and down through #10. On the backside go over and through #11. Go across the front to #2.

6. You will repeat the “across front” (AF) and “over on the back” (OB) from here on out. Each hole will have thread going through it twice to create a peak/point.

1. Trim half an inch off the edges of the kraft cardstock
2. Adhere Sassafras paper to smallest Jenni Bowlin star
3. Cut two 2×6 inch strips of the Jillibean Beef Bouillon paper andtrim edge to show diamond edge. Place one strip 1.5 inches in from left edge of kraft cardstock
4. Collect your photos — I used one 4×6 and two 4×3 (trimmed a little on the 3 inch side). Arrange the photos on the page, leaving a border between the photos and positioning the 2nd small photo about an inch below the 4×6 photo.
5. Cut 3/4 inch strip of the Sassafras paper and attach between the 4×6 and 2nd small photo.
6. Add title using Jenni Bowlin star and stickers – tear edge of Sassafras paper where title ends
7. Cut 3/4×4 strip of Jillibean Mixed Veggies paper and adhere below 1st small photo
8. Attach 2nd strip of Beef Bouillon paper at the bottom of the page.
9. Embellish the title with buttons.
10. Add journaling above and below the title.

1. On kraft cardstock paint or use ink to cover approximately 1/3 of the paper without going all the way to the edges

3. Adhere 4×6 photo to left hand side polka dot paper, leave about an inch to the left

6. Make a border strip with a scrap of the mixed veggies paper using fiskars apron lace punch.  For more information on this technique, check out this video. Adhere to layout.
7. Adhere small scrap 1″x5″ or so strip of stripe side of Blue&White Motel paper.  Place label sticker to the right.
8. Add title using stamps and Jenni Bowlin alpha stickers.

1. We are building this layout on the Jillibean Soup kraft paper with the numbers on it.
2. Next, cut the orange report card out from the Jillibean Soup paper. Then cut out .5 inches of the navy report card. Save the rest of it to use in the next step.
3. Place the .5 strip of the navy report card, then the orange report card, then a 4×6 photo, then the opposite side of the navy report card (the argyle side)in the middle of the layout and adhere.
4. Using a circle punch, punch out the letters A, B, C from the Jillibean Soup alphabet paper. Adhere the A and B to the left side of your photo and the C to the right side.
5. Next, the title. I used one of the October Afternoon labels and placed part of my title with the Jenni Bowlin small circle alphas on top of it. I finished the title with the larger red and white Jenni Bowlin letters.
6. Next, I took the smaller Jenni Bowlin chipboard star and covered it with the red with white flowered Jillibean Soup paper.
7. I threaded some of the red gingham ribbon through the yellow button and added it to the star with a glue dot.
8. I added some journaling to the orange report card and called it done!

1.  Use JBS Die-Cut Label Paper as your background.
2.  Hand-cut an approximately 9 inch circle from the October Afternoon Blue & White Motel patterned paper.  I used a paper plate as a guide.
3.  Place your circle, polka-dot side up, overlapping the lower left hand corner of the JBS Die-Cut Paper .  Using the inside border as a guide, lightly trace the pattern and cut out.
4.  Distress edges of circle.
5.  Cut a 2 inch slit on the top right corner of your circle.  Fold the edges over to create two flaps.  Distress the edges of the flaps.
6.  Cut a piece of the JBS Vintage Black Bookprintpatterned paper to fit behind the opening in your circle.  Distress the edge and wrinkle it.  Adhere it to the back of your circle.
7.  Adhere your circle in the lower right hand corner of the JBS Die-Cut Label Paper.
8.  Place the October Afternoon cardstock “Photograph” sticker to the left of the opening in your circle.  Layer a 4×6 photo over it.
9.  Layer your second photo (approximately 2.5 by 3.75 inches) over the right side of your 4×6 photo.
10.  Tie together the two ends of the Jillibean Soup ABC ribbon.  Cut off the excess so you have a ribbon approximately 4 inches in length.  Adhere overlapping your 4×6 photo as shown.
11.  Place the October Afternoon cardstock sticker over the end of the ribbon and your smaller photo.  Add a caption.
12.  Cut a 1 by 8 inch strip from the October Afternoon Blue & White Motel patterned paper using the striped-side as a guide.  Cut the left end of your paper strip to create a banner effect, as shown.
13.  Journal directly on your strip.  Let your ink dry so it doesn’t smear, and distress the edges and loosely wrinkle your journaling strip.
14.  Loosely adhere below your 4×6 photo to create a dimensional effect.
15.  Select a vintage flashcard to use for your layout.   For mine, I sewed a button on for a zero and punched a number 9 out of the October Afternoon Skyline Motor Inn patterned paper to record the date.  I used mounting tape to raise the number 9.  If the numbers on your vintage flashcard don’t relate to your layout in any way (date, age, theme, etc.) simply adhere it, overlapping your 4×6 photo, with mounting tape or pop-dots for a fun embellishment.
16.  Sew a green button on the right flap on the top of your circle.  Sew a second green button on the right side of your journaling strip.
17.  Wrap the Jillibean Soup twine back andforth around the two buttons.
18.  Use the JBS Red Trim Cardstock Alpha Stickers for your title andwrap it around your circle.

Personalized ID Tags by Michelle Whitlow

These tags are super easy and a lot of fun to make. I like to make these to put on my kids’ bookbags & lunch bags. I also make these to put on all of our suitcases & bags when we travel. My kids love ‘em. I purchased some badge holders, they usually come in a pack of 10 and you can buy them at Staples, Office Max, Kinkos, etc.
1. Trim your paper or cardstock to fit the badge (these ones measure 2 1/2″ x 3 1/4″). I used the new Jillibean Soup paper that came with the kit as the base of the tag and trimmed a couple strips of the other coordinating papers to put along the bottom.
2. I printed out my kids’ names, stamped a circle and punched it out.
3. Add some stitching, twine & ribbon and you have your own personalized tag!
