Let’s get to know the amazingly talented Sarah de Guzman a little better:
How did you get into scrapbooking?
When I graduated Jr. High, I received a scrapbooking kit as one of presents. Since then, I have had a love for creating memories of the events in my life. A couple of years ago, however, I realized that scrapbooking was more than just events; it was also about documentation. It’s my way of journaling about my life.
What is your favorite thing to scrap?
Right now, my main focus are my two rascal Miniature Schnauzers — Maui and Hilo. They truly are a handful with tons of personality, and I love to scrap about them because their pictures are just too cute. If not them, then I scrap about family and friends.
What is your favorite color combination to scrap with?
I tend to use neutral, earth-toned colors. So… definitely the greens and browns.
When you are in a rut, what do you do to get out of it?
I sit there and sit there and sit there. Just kidding! I go to my blog and galleries to look at some of my previous work. If I’m still in a rut, I read other people’s blogs for inspiration. Usually, that works.
Which of the kits from KGK is your favorite?
I’ve only played with two of them so far, but I really liked the September kit for the bright colors! The oranges were out of control fun to play with! The past kits looked pretty scrumptious too! …and I can’t wait for the future kits. Pam always puts together such an awesome combination of scrapping goodies!
Where do you look for inspiration?
I blog hop and look at all the endless inspiration online.
I could sit on the computer for hours looking at all of the scrapping eye candy out there!
What is your best scrapbooking tip?
When you see something in the store that you REALLY REALLY like, BUY it! You never know when a store is not going to carry it anymore. It’s really a bummer when it’s gone. ((Yes, I know. I’m a horrible influence.))
How do you make the most of your kits?
I try to use up as much of it as a I can. I cut up the patterned papers to make my own embellishments. Also, saving the scraps for cards is always a great way to make the most of each kit.
Tell us 3 things that might surprise us.
1. I have a fear of birds.
2. I’m lactose intolerant. (Okay, that was too much information, haha!)
3. I went to an all-girl Catholic High School. Yikes!

Love your work, Sarah!
